Here Comes the Bride – Behind the Inspiration

There’s always a wave of excitement and anticipation when starting a new collection, and this time is no exception.

Weddings have popped up in my work before; you might remember past pieces like ‘The Bridesmaid’ mini series (all sold), ‘Something Blue’, and ‘White Lace & Promises’—all inspired by weddings. Then, last year, as our youngest daughter prepared for her own big day, I created a few paintings using her wedding color palette and a soft bridal gown silhouette. It helped me process it all, you can read about that here.

I’m not sure what the pull is toward the wedding theme, but I’m finding joy leaning into it.

This new collection combines a little of both those worlds: sentimental inspiration and trend-driven excitement. I started researching the top color palettes for 2025’s wedding season, and let me tell you—I was swooning! The colors this year are just so dreamy, I couldn’t wait to dive in.

I’ve landed on five distinct color stories for this collection:

✨ French Lilac

✨ Pantone’s 2025 Color of the Year: Mocha Mousse

✨ Summer Sorbet

✨ Red Ever After

Each one will have its own mini collection of work—like a little visual love story told in its own unique language.

Originally, I set out to just do the color work for each palette before beginning the paintings. But... once I had those first perfect hues mixed? Yeah, there was no holding back. I had to start painting. Saying I’m excited doesn’t even begin to cover it!
