What We’ll Cover in This Four-Session Workshop

Session 1: Inspiration + Foundations : January 8, 2026

We’ll kick things off with introductions, explore the heart behind choosing a personal Word of the Year, and gather meaningful ephemera to use in your journal. You’ll see examples of junk journals for inspiration and begin crafting your first pages.

Session 2: Meaning + Construction : January 22, 2026

Together, we’ll dive into reflective Word-of-the-Year prompts and begin building out the structure of your journal. You’ll learn simple page-making and binding techniques that form the backbone of your book.

Session 3: Layers + Interactivity : February 5, 2026

This session is all about creative play—decorating pages, experimenting with mixed-media details, and designing specialty elements like pockets, flips, envelopes, and interactive components.

Session 4: Finishing Touches + Looking Ahead : February 19, 2026

We’ll create your journal cover, incorporate your collected pieces, and add custom details that bring your vision together. You’ll leave with a completed junk journal and a guide to help you continue using it throughout the year.
